Mayor of Temerin
After local elections on May 11th 2008,
councilors with majority of votes have chosen Mr Andras Gustonj for the
new Mayor of Temerin.
Andras Gustonj was born in 1962
in Temerin. He completed
elementary education in Temerin, as well as ninth and tenth grade. Third
and fourth grade of secondary education he completed in Novi Sad as well
as Law school at the University of Novi Sad. Since 1986 he worked in Radio
Novi Sad as a practitioner, associate and editor of the program in
Hungarian language until he was elected as a Mayor of Temerin. Between
year 2000 and 2002 he was working as a president of the Executive Board in
the Municipality. As a councilor he has been elected two times, for the
period between 2004 and 2008 and on the last elections he has been elected
for the tenure until 2012 year. He is married and father of two.

Tasks that he plans on fulfilling during his mandate are to
complete projects that were started and making conditions for staring new
projects.
-One of the plans that should be seriously considered,
no matter if you are in the leading or in the opposing party, is creating
strategies for development of the Municipality of Temerin. With this
project in which we will involve experts from and even outside of Temerin,
the future development of Temerin would be determined. Fund for Capital
Investments in Vojvodina Parliament confirmed extension of collaboration,
so we will continue work on purifying the liquid waste, school in Staro
Djurdjevo, kindergarten in Sirig and sports stadium in Backi Jarak.
Temerin has been successfully applying in the past for grants from the
Funds in European Agencies for reconstruction. This will be continued in
the future. We need to put lots of work and effort for the realization of
the numerous plans, nothing will happen on its own. I believe we are able
to fulfill plans and that the results of our work will be fruitful.
