Tourism
Municipality of Temerin is still not
favorite tourist destination. However it’s rich in natural, historical and
cultural heritage which can be very interesting for tourists. One specific
thing which is still not used very much is thermo mineral water which
springs up from 600 meters altitude. This water is rich in minerals,
mostly iodine and sulphure. Since the beginning of the last century this
water is being used for therapy of many diseases and recovery from
injuries. The future development of the tourism will definitely go in the
direction of the spa tourism. Great number of well kept sport fields,
trails, sports stadium and swimming pool complex are the main foundation
for sports and recreation. Also, we can not forget to mention the little
river Jegricka which is Natural Park under protection with very specific
flora and fauna. In the past several years there is a trend of
reconstruction of old ranches and transformation to real tourist oasis.
Missing of the register of accommodation in the private housing is one of
the reasons that Temerin is still not highly ranked tourist destination.
Some progress has been seen lately and its realistic goal that Temerin
soon become well known and desirable destination.

After two centuries, since 2001 Park has been protected by Law as a Natural Heritage. Swimming pool complex
Swimming pool complex is one of the best kept in the region. With the big Olympic pool there are also two smaller ones with thermo-mineral water. We are planning on building new pool for children, as well. Visitors can enjoy swimming and sun bathing, but also beach volley or simply relaxation with the wide variety of food and drinks.
Sports hall
As part of the Public Community Corporation “Temerin” there are two sports halls, in Temerin and in Backi Jarak. Beside regular physical education for elementary school students that is being conducted there, there are a lot of sport activities going on like hand ball, volley ball, football and martial arts. Sports hall in Temerin has place for about 1000 people in the audience. Beside already traditional sport manifestations, concerts, exhibitions and theater shows are being held there. Sports hall in Backi Jarak is in the final phase of building. Currently physical education classes and trainings are being conducted there. This sports hall has about 750 places for audience.
Small Zoo
In the beginning of eighties nature and animal lover Mr Karolj Kis started building his own small zoo. Ten years later it was open for public. Today at this zoo, there are about 25 species of birds, pigs, guinea pigs and deer who would gladly share your food. Jegricka
Jegricka, tributary of bigger river Tisa is 64.5 kilometers long. On the territory of Temerin Municipality it comes from territory of Vrbas Municipality. Its course on the Temerin territory is 18 kilometers, which takes about 28% of its longevity. This Natural Park protected by Law with its rich flora and fauna is a great potential for development of sport, recreational, hunting and fishing tourism. The banks of the river are natural habitation for many bird species. |
